You need to have the mindset of a musician

To be a successful musician, you need to have the right mindset. First of all, you need to know that you are going to spend a lot of time on your music if you are really serious. For me, I like to do many things. I skateboard, I play video games, I hang out with friends, talk on the phone, and other stuff that any other person does. I make time to do everything that I like, and I work on music in any free time that I have. You also need to understand that you are ALWAYS learning. Just because you are very good at a certain instrument doesn't mean that you have mastered it. You ALWAYS have more to learn. Don't stop practicing or learning an instrument because you think you know everything there is to know about it. You don't. I promise. My guitar teacher has been playing instruments for many, many years, and even he still has things to learn. Keep practicing your instruments. Another problem that I have seen in some musicians is their cockyness. Now, don't get this confused with CONFIDENCE. Confedence is a very good thing to have as a musician. Whether you are performing for a crowd, or putting your music out there, confidence is key. Cockyness on the other hand, is just not a good mindset. If somebody asks, sure you can tell them about your musical abilities. Just don't brag. I have seen so many musicians who think that they are better than everybody. They brag about their abilities, they want all the attention, and they show off whenever the opportunity arrises. Don't be that guy/girl. Be humble about your abilities, and don't try to bring all of the attention to you.

If you have the right musician mindset, you should do well. You'll be more popular among people because you aren't cocky, and you are always open to learning.
